He served with the Royal Air Force from 1940 to 1946. After discharge, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve for six years. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant. Bartholomew Coffey Service #: 971203 Bartholomew Coffey was born in Angel ʼs Cove, Newfoundland on 9th December, 1916. He served with the 59th Heavy Regiment, Royal Arti l lery as a Master Gunner, going ashore on Sword Beach on D Day with the first wave of his Regiment. He passed away on 10th June, 2008 in Denton, England. Eric R. Butler Service #: 2293 Eric R. Butler was born in Shoal Harbour, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland on 18th November, 1915. He served with the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit from 1940 to 1945. He is deceased.
