He enlisted with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment on 2nd September, 1914; British Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, August 10th, 1915; British Expeditionary Force, March 14th, 1916; Evacuated to hospital on July 15th, 1917; Rejoined the Battalion on October 14th, 1917; Wounded, Mesnieres, December 3rd, 1917; Invalided to England, December 9th, 1917; Attached to Depot, Ayr, February 18th, 1918; Embarked for Newfoundland, furlough, July 12th, 1918; Demobilized to St. John’s, February 15th, 1919. He passed away on November 6th, 1947. Thomas Ricketts Service #: 3102 Thomas Ricketts was born in Middle Arm, White Bay, Newfoundland on 15th April, 1901. He enlisted at the age of 15 years and 4 months into the 1st Bn, Royal Newfoundland Regiment during the First World War. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty on 14th October, 1918. Horatius Seaward Service #: 172 Horatius Seaward was born in Clarenville, Newfoundland. He enlisted on September 8th, 1916; with the British Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on 20th August, 1915; Evacuated, Suvla, November 24th, 1915; Invalided to England, November 24th, 1915; British Expeditionary Force, December 12th, 1916; He was Killed in Action on 16th August, 1917 in Steenbeke.
