He served with the Saint John Fusiliers, Canadian Parachute Corps and 1st US/Canadian Special Service Force in WW2 - 1941 to 1946. He passed away on 11th January, 2003. Fred Tilley Service #: 1353373 Fred Tilley served in the Royal Air Force from 12th July, 1940 to 9th August, 1947 on active service in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland as a dispatch driver, Unit 5010C, MSU, attached to 127 Wing. He also served with the 143 Wing of RCAF in Germany. He is presently a member of Bonavista Branch #7 of The Royal Canadian Legion. Pilot Officer Robert McPherson (Bob) TOMS, RCAF Service #: J/95531 Robert McPherson was born in Grand Falls/Windsor, NL in 1925. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Air Gunner with 514 Squadron, RAF Bomber Command. He was killed on active service on 9th May, 1945, the day after VE Day. His aircraft was engaged in repatriating prisoners of war from German prison camps. He is buried at Clichy Northern Cemetery in Paris.
