Robert Francis Matthews Service #: 798639 Robert Francis Matthews was born in Grand Falls/Windsor, NL in 1923. He joined the Royal Air Force on 26th December, 1940 and after training was posted to the 9th Squadron. On 18th January, 1943 he was killed in action when the aircraft was shot down during a bombing raid on Germany. He is buried in a collective grave with the other members of the air crew at Hamburg Cemetery in Germany. Joseph William McGrath Service #: 971656 Joseph William McGrath was born on 6th June, 1918 in Carbonear, NL. He served with the 59th (Nfld) Heavy Regiment, RA from April, 1940 to October, 1945. He passed away on 27th May, 1992.
