He enlisted on June 6, 1940 and served with the Carleton and York Regiment in the United Kingdom and Sicily. Lance Corporal Johnson was listed as missing and presumed to be killed in action in Sicily on July 18, 1943. His name is listed on the Cassino Memorial. For his service, he received the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945 and the CVSM and clasp. Herman est né à Campbellton, au N.-B., le 14 février 1912. He is buried in the Moro River Canadian War Cemetery. For his service, he received the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945 and the CVSM and clasp. He enlisted on May 14, 1942 and served with the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (M.G) in the United Kingdom and France. Private Johnston died in Normandy, France on June 7, 1944. He is buried in the Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery. For his service, he received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945 and the CVSM and clasp.
