He immigrated to Canada and settled in Saint John in 1905. He married Florence Mailman in 1909 and shortly after relocated to Manitoba. He enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on December 11, 1915 and was posted to the 43rd Battalion (Manitoba Regiment). In September of 1916 he shipped out for England where he served with the 14th Reserve Battalion until May of 1917 when he was sent to France with the 43rd Battalion. He was killed in action at Passchendaele, the 3rd Battle of Ypres on October 26, 1977. Frederick was the recipient of the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. His name is engraved on the Menin Gate Monument and he is recorded in the Book of Remembrance in Ottawa. Frederick est né à Warrington, en Angleterre, le 2 octobre 1887. Williams, Canadian Army. Ralph first joined the RCAF but re-mustered into the Army. He trained at Camps Sussex and Utopia, and at Vernon, BC. He then became an instructor at the officer training school in Brookville, ON, as a member of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. After the war Ralph worked for the Canadian Coast Guard.
