Toby was born in Sydney Mines, NS but lived in Saint John most of his life. He served for five years during the war in England and in 1944 saw service in Italy. After the war Toby continued to serve in the militia, eventually retiring as Company Quartermaster Sergeant with the Royal New Brunswick Regiment. After the war he worked for McAvity-Crane Ltd. on Rothesay Avenue. Toby was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus in Saint John. He was active in many sports and was a co-founder of the IndustrialInstitutional Hockey League which later became the East-West Suburban Hockey League. Toby died in 2008. Toby est décédé en 2008. UNDERHILL, George Alfred WWI/Première Guerre mondiale George was born in Newcastle, NB on June 22, 1893. He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force on January 19, 1916 and was posted to the 132nd Bn. He shipped out for England on the S.S. Corsican in November of 1916. Once arrived he was transferred to the 104th Bn then the 132nd Bn. In March of 1918 Pte. Underhill was sent to France with the 26th Bn (NB). He was killed in action on August 28, 1918 and is buried in the Wancourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. George est né le 22 juin 1893 à Newcastle, au N.-B. VROOM, Charlie WWII/Deuxième Guerre mondiale Special Duty Area/Zone de service spécial Peacetime/Temps de paix Charlie was born in St. Stephen on March 24, 1925. He enlisted with the RCASC at the age of 16. He served in Canada, Germany and Egypt with the Blue Helmets during the Suez Crisis. Charlie was awarded the Defense Medal, the CVSM and Clasp, the Medal 1939-1945, the UN Emergency Force Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. He was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Normandy Branch 78. He passed away on November 19, 2005. Charlie est né à St. Stephen le 24 mars 1925.
