He enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg on January 10, 1940 and served in Europe and England with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry during World War II. Private James Aimoe was discharged in Winnipeg on November 8, 1945 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He and his wife Betty had three children: Brenda, Brian and Jim. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. AKERT, Arnold Herman WWI Arnold was born in Salt Lake City on June 22, 1893. He enlisted in the US Marines in June 1918 and served in Cuba and the West Indies. Private Arnold Akert was discharged in November 1919. He and his wife, Bella, had three children, John, Norman and Mary Lou. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. AKERT, Norman Eugene KOREA Norman was born on October 1, 1932. He enlisted in the US Air Force on October 16, 1950, at the age of eighteen, to serve in the Korean War. He was discharged on August 9, 1954. He was married to Elizabeth Ann. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. Norman passed away in 1984. ANDERSON, Carl Fred WWII Carl was born in Stockholm, Sweden on November 10, 1913. He enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg and served with the RCOC in Canada during World War II. Private Carl Anderson was discharged in Montreal on May 27, 1943. He was married to Alma. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. Carl passed away on August 18, 1981. ANDERSON, Kenneth Ellwood Kenneth was born in Kellher, Saskatchewan on December 11, 1932. He enlisted in the armed forces on September 19, 1951, at the age of eighteen, and served in Canada with the CFS. He received a 12-year Medal. Kenneth was married to Ethel. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. APLIN, Ernest James WWI Ernest was born in England on February 8, 1898. He enlisted in the Army on March 17, 1916, at the age of eighteen and served in Europe with the WLI. Private Ernest Aplin was discharged in November 1918. He received the Service Medal. He and his wife, Ann, had one son, Alvin Austin. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. ARBUTHNOTT, William WWII William was born inWinnipeg, Manitoba on January 12, 1916. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg on July 12, 1940 and served in Canada and in England during World War II. Corporal William Arbuthnott was discharged in Moncton, NB on September 2, 1945. He and his wife, Mary Anne had two children, a daughter, Margaret Louise and a son, Dennis William. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. ARNOLD, Kenneth Charles WWII Kenneth was born in Indian Head on April 25, 1918. He enlisted in the Army in Regina on October 3, 1939 and served with the SSR in Europe during World War II. He was discharged in Regina on July 21, 1945. Kenneth received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the France and Germany Star. He and his wife, Irene Belle, had four children, Maxine, Frances, Winnie and Audrey. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. Kenneth passed away on July 21, 2002. ATKINSON, James T. WWII James was born in Russell, Manitoba on August 15, 1917. He enlisted in the Army on December 12, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers overseas duringWorldWar II. Sergeant James Atkinson was discharged on July 16, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. James passed away on March 23, 1987. AVISON, George Albert WWII George was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, on June 15, 1921. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (service number R116009) inWinnipeg on July 1, 1941. Corporal George Avison served in Canada during World War II until his discharge on February 8, 1946. For his service, he received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. George was married to Effie and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. Remembered
