157 The Royal Canadian Legion www.mbnwo.legion.ca PASOWISTY, Eugene WWII Eugene was born on October 27, 1917, to Nicholas and Annie (Laba) at Elk Ranch, Manitoba. In 1939, he enlisted and two years later went overseas with the Canadian Military Engineers from 1941 to 1945. He was wounded in November 1944. After the war, Eugene remained in the service, working at the Storage Depot in MacDonald until 1951. He then became Heating Plant Fireman until 1959 and finally transferred to CFB Southport, south of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. He retired in 1977. Eugene married Mary Pilatik in 1943 and they lived in Portage. He passed away on November 22, 1979 in Winnipeg and is buried in Hillside Cemetery in Portage. PASOWISTY, Walter Volodymyr WWII Walter was born on September 13, 1915, to Nicholas and Annie (Laba) Pasowisty in Elk Ranch, Manitoba. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Irene Gutoski in 1946 and they lived in Elk Ranch. In 1973, Walter and his family moved to Neepawa. Walter passed away on April 30, 1986 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa. PASOWYSTY, Anthony Nelson “Tony” WWII Tony was born on May 17, 1925, to Russell William and Mary (Natkowski) Pasowysty at Elk Ranch, Manitoba, near Eden. He enlisted and served with the Royal Canadian Artillery. His brother, Peter, served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and his sister, Josephine, served with the CWAC. Anthony passed away on September 15, 2010 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa, Manitoba, Lot 5, Block 13, Range 28.
