129 The Royal Canadian Legion www.mbnwo.legion.ca LOGAN, Thomas J. P. WWII Thomas was born in Lorlie, Saskatchewan in 1916 and passed away in 1999. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Corporal and transport driver with 437 Squadron in Trenton, Ontario and Dauphin, Manitoba, as well as in England, Belgium and France. Thomas was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion General Lipsett Branch 99 in Emo for more than fifty years. LOUGH, William Graham WWI William was born on April 28, 1897, to William and Jane Lough in Neepawa, Manitoba. He enlisted on June 19, 1915, at the age of eighteen, in Brandon and served with the 2nd Canadian Light Trench Motor Battery. He saw much fighting, having been in the battles of the Somme, Vimy Ridge and Lens. He was promoted to Corporal and was in training for further promotion. His last letter to his parents was written from Paris where he was on leave having finished his training course for sergeant rank before going back to the trenches. William was killed on April 15, 1918, directly on reaching the trenches in France after his last leave. He was buried in Roclincourt Military Cemetery, two miles north of Arras, France. LOXTON, George Arthur Henry WWII George was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 9, 1924. George moved to Neepawa at the age of eight to live with his aunt and uncle, Rose and Bill Loxton, and his cousin, Rosie Tyack. George enlisted in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry on June 26, 1940, then with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, he was sent to Debert, NS, and then overseas to the UK. George was wounded on D-Day, June 8, 1944. He was discharged on March 6, 1945, in Winnipeg and received the 19391945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. George passed away on September 22, 2002.
