He enlisted in the Army in Toronto on October 19, 1943 and served overseas as a Gunner during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on September 28, 1946. His service number was H-25051. WALKER, Garfield Morris WWII Garfield was born in Fort William, Ontario on August 21, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on June 17, 1941 in Winnipeg and served as a Trooper with the 8th Canadian Reece in Canada, England and in Europe during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on April 1, 1946. He received the 1939-1945 Star, Defence of Britain Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, France and Germany Star and Victory Medal. He and his wife, Marion Elizabeth, had four sons: Duncan Ross, Gary Bruce, Campbell Morris, and David Archie. WALKER, Oliver Grandville WWII L/Cpl Oliver Walker was born in London, England on February 24, 1912. He enlisted in the Swan River on June 14, 1941 and served with 12 Manitoba Dragoons in the United Kingdom, France and Northwest Europe during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on December 14, 1945. His service number was H-77297. Oliver received the Service Medal. He and his wife, Joyce Doris, had three children: Barry Peter, Albert Grandville and Hugh Glen. WALLSTROM, Johan B. William WWII Private Johan Wallstrom was born in Bureo, Sweden on October 21, 1902. He enlisted in November 1941 with the Canadian Forestry Corps and served with 24 Coy in Canada and overseas during World War II. He was discharged on January 10, 1946. His service number as H-94331. WALMSLEY, Kenneth Alexander WWII Corporal Kenneth Walmsley was born in Bowsman, Manitoba on January 29, 1921. He enlisted in Swan River, Manitoba on July 2, 1940 and served with Lake Superior Regiment overseas during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on December 11, 1945. His service number was H-46036. WALTS, Albert Grant Corporal Albert Walts was born in Halbrite, Saskatchewan on April 21, 1935. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Regina on January 29, 1954 and served in Canada and in Europe. He and his wife Edith Vivian had two sons, David Alvin and Timothy Grant. WANAMAKER, Helen WWII Helen was born in Luxembourg on January 1, 1924. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division on October 22, 1942 and served as a Leading Aircraftwoman in Canada during World War II. She was discharged on April 9, 1946 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Her service number was W307582. She was married to Robert. WANAMAKER, Robert Francis “Bob” WWII & KOREA Bob was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 5, 1926. He enlisted in the Army in Regina on October 26, 1942 and served overseas as a Sapper with the RCE during World War II. He was discharged on December 5, 1945. His service number was L-102526. Bob re-enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg on September 29, 1950 and served as a Gunner with the RCHA in Korea. He was discharged in Winnipeg on October 10, 1952. His service number was H-800368. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Victory Medal, 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star and Korea Medal. He and his wife Helen had two daughters, Lori Margaret and Kathy Anne. WARD, Maurice WWII Private Maurice Ward was born in Yorkshire, England on September 15, 1910. He enlisted in the Army in Flin Flon in March 1944 and served in Canada with E.C.O. #10 DD, RCE during World War II. His service number was H-22237. He was married to his wife Ethel. WARICK, Joseph WWII Joseph was born in Dana, Saskatchewan on May 2, 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Regina on September 7, 1941 and served in the Pacific during World War II.
