He enlisted in the Army in Flin Flon on June 26, 1941 and served with the 18th Canadian Armoured Regiment, CAC in Canada and overseas during World War II. Trooper Alvin Mills was discharged in Winnipeg on December 17, 1946. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, France and Germany Star, and Victory Medal. He and his wife Jenny had one son, Alvin. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. Alvin passed away on March 18, 1970. MILTON, Robert Franklin WWII Robert was born in Curryville, Manitoba on July 23, 1902. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Radar) in Winnipeg on January 30, 1941 and served overseas during World War II. Sergeant Robert Milton was discharged in Winnipeg on February 27, 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He and his wife Dorothy had five children, Diane, Peter, Joseph, William and Albert. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. MINKUS, Clarence Casimir John KOREA Clarence was born in the Rural Municipality of Rosedale, Manitoba on January 8, 1932, to Charles and Beatrice Minkus. He attended schools at Iroquois #103 and Clarksville #1396. Clarence worked on his father’s farm. He was a member of Neepawa’s No. 9 Air Cadet Squadron. Clarence was in the Reserve Army at Fort Osborne in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery in Shilo, Manitoba, Field Battery, CIC #483385. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy at HMCS Chippawa, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He served in Korea with the Destroyer Division for over three years. After his discharge, Clarence worked in underground mines for seven years, was a trucker, and farmed. He was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Neepawa Branch for 46 years and involved with its various activities. Clarence passed away on April 28, 2011.
