WWI Marcus was born on March 24, 1896, in the RM of Langford, the son of Marcus and Elizabeth Chisholm of Neepawa. He enlisted in the Neepawa Company of the 226th Battalion in 1916. Corporal Marcus Chisholm was in the terrible fighting from Passchendaele to Amiens, but had been reported missing from the latter battle.When last seen, he was wounded and in a shell hole. It is thought that he was killed, but there has been no official report of his death. His official date of death was August 11, 1918. He is buried at Vimy Memorial, Pas-de-Calais, France. COOK, Benjamin Thomas WWII Thomas was born in Glenella, Manitoba on March 17, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 7, 1940 and did two tours of duty. On October 18, 1947, F/O Benjamin Cook crashed while on a flight from Calgary to Penticton. The wreckage was found five years later nine miles north of Rossland, BC. He is buried at Ottawa Memorial Cemetery. Benjamin was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal 19391945, Defence Medal, and Distinguished Flying Medal. COOK, Frank Henry WWII Frank was born on September 21, 1920, to John and Tilley (Kaufman) Cook in Clanwilliam, Manitoba. He received his education in Clanwilliam. Frank joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and worked as a member of the ground crew. Before he was posted overseas, he was called back to train as a navigator. He was discharged in Winnipeg on September 2, 1944 after both of his parents died, so he could work the farm and care for his younger siblings. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-1945. Frank married Dorothy Johnson in 1948 and they continued to farm in the Eden area until 1990 when they retired to Neepawa. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Neepawa Branch 23 for 61 years from 1954 to 2015. Frank passed away on May 5, 2015 and was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa, Lot 1, Block 4, Range 27.
