He enlisted in the army in Winnipeg in 1943 and served during World War II in Canada and overseas in England and France where he was wounded on active duty. He was married to Vivian. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. William passed away on September 22, 1975. BOUGHTON, Harold M. WWII Harold was born on October 8, 1925, to Wilfrid and Edith Boughton of Arden, Manitoba. He was raised and received his education in Arden. After graduation, Harold enlisted and served as a Private with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. After his discharge on July 16, 1946 in Vancouver, BC, he enrolled in the University of Manitoba and obtained an agriculture degree. He worked for the Department of Agriculture for several years in North Dakota, then returned to Roblin, Manitoba as an Agricultural Representative. Harold was also a part of Roblin Town Council and was a founding member of Roblin Forest Products. He and his wife, Grace Carrothers, were married on September 4, 1948 in Austin, Manitoba. They had four daughters and two sons. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Neepawa Branch 23 and Arden Branch 144. Harold passed away on February 21, 1988 in Roblin and was buried there. BOUGHTON, Walter Wesley WWII Walter was born on December 31, 1923, to Alfred and Edith Boughton in Arden, Manitoba. He received his education at Salisbury and Arden schools. He then went to work in the Arden Post Office. In 1942, Walter enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and in 1943 was sent overseas. After his discharge in 1946, Walter returned to Canada and his job at the Post Office. While in England, he met and married his wife, Iris Berry. Their first son was born in England and they followed Walter to Canada, arriving in Arden in August 1946. Walter became Post Master after the death of his father and continued in this position until 1959. He then became Secretary-Treasurer of the R.M. of Lansdowne, where he worked until 1989. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Neepawa Branch 23.Walter passed away on March 7, 1994 and is buried in Arden.
