He was born in Hamiota, MB, on October 17, 1916. Brother George born about 1914, deceased, is buried Hamiota, MB cemetery. Harry was one of 7 Parker brothers, 4 sisters. Six Brothers served in WWII. Brother George, born 1914, died young. All six brothers who served in WWII are in this Volume 15. All returned home safely from combat. Harry grew up in Hamiota and Rivers, MB before volunteering for Canadian Army, WWII, then serving in the European theatre. He earned 1939-45 Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp, and War Medal 1939-45. He earned Africa, and/or Italy, and/or France and Germany Star(s), but we don’t know which exact theatre(s). Harry married Olive Nesbitt of Oak River, MB. They had one daughter, Gloria. Harry was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 75, Rivers, MB. and retired in Rivers. PARKER, James Walter (Jim) WWII James was the second son of Walter and Ida (Palmer) Parker. He was born in Hamiota, MB, on September 6, 1912. James was one of 7 Parker brothers, 4 sisters. Six brothers served in WWII. One brother died young.
