He enlisted in Winnipeg on May 15, 1941 and served with the 18th ACA (12D) in Europe during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on November 7, 1945. James was married to Kathleen. BOWES, Norman A. WWII Norman was born and raised in Grandview, Manitoba, in 1918. He joined the war effort with his two brothers, Elwood and Ivan. Once discharged, Norman moved to Palmerston, Ontario, where he was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Frank Lambler Branch 409. Norman had a career as a restaurateur and an engineer/fireman with the CNR. He passed away in 1988, at the age of seventy. BOWMAN, Harold George WWII Harold was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on October 29, 1919. He enlisted in the Army in Portage la Prairie on April 19, 1941. He served with the 4 Division, Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in Europe and in Canada during World War II. He was discharged on February 13, 1946. His service number was 205077. For his service, Harold received the Service Medal.
