AFGHANISTAN LCol Wuskynyk, born in Winnipeg in 1978, joined the regular force and was commissioned into the Canadian Forces Military Police Group (CF MP Gp) in 2005. His early service was spent in Shilo, Manitoba as the 1MP Unit Shilo Detachment Commander. In 2009, LCol Wuskynyk was posted as the Operations Officer of the Canadian Forces Protective Services Unit (CFPSU) in Ottawa, Ontario. While at the CFPSU, he deployed on two operational Close Protection (CP) deployments; the first to Afghanistan in 2009; the second to Lebanon in 2011. In 2012, LCol Wuskynyk was posted to the Canadian Forces National Investigative Service (CFNIS) in Ottawa. Throughout his service in the CFNIS, LCol Wuskynyk was assigned as the Officer in Charge of the National Drug Enforcement Team (CFNIS NDET), Officer Commanding the Specialized Operations Section (CFNIS SOS) and Deputy Commanding Officer. During his time at the CFNIS, LCol Wuskynyk worked to improve the investigative services provided to the CAF in the areas of illicit drug activity, sexual offence investigations and other specialized operations. As a result of his results-driven approach to specialized police services, LCol Wuskynyk was awarded the Chief of Defence Staff Commendation in 2014. In 2017, LCol Wuskynyk assumed command of the Joint Task Force – Iraq, Military Police Unit and deployed to Kuwait. During this deployment, he led military policing services over three detachments and two countries. In 2018, he was assigned as the Executive Officer to the Director of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve – Ministerial Liaison Team and deployed to Iraq. During this deployment, LCol Wuskynyk was responsible for providing the Director with advice, guidance, and insight, as part of his internal command team. In 2019, LCol Wuskynyk assumed Command of the CFPSU and led the unit in the close protection of General Officers and Dignitaries such as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Chief of Defence Staff (VCDS), and the Governor General of Canada (GG). During his Command of the CFPSU, LCol Wuskynyk also successfully graduated from the United States Marine Corps University, Command and Staff College program (USMC CSC). In 2020, LCol Wuskynyk assumed his current rank and took Command of the Air Force Military Police Group (AF MP Gp). He is currently responsible for all frontline police services and force protection on a national and international scale for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). LCol Wuskynyk has continuously cherished every opportunity to work with amazing people, in some of the most exciting units in the CF MP Gp. He is supported by an amazing family that supports him in his professional career as well as his personal passion for all things equestrian. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 315. YOUNG, Charles Arthur WWII Charles was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on December 3, 1919. He enlisted in the Army in Yorkton on September 21, 1939 and served as a Gunner with the 1st Light Anti-Aircraft Battery, RCA in Canada during World War II. He was discharged in Regina in February 1940. Charles received the Service Medal. His service number was L-10119. He and his wife Aileen had two daughters, Barbara Lynn and Gayle Louise.
