251 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca WALDO, Ralph Erwin WWII Ralph was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on November 25, 1921. He enlisted in the Army in Regina on June 26, 1942 and served as a Trooper with the C.A.C., 4 Field, P.L.D.G. in Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged in Regina on January 19, 1946. His service number was L-10953. WARBURTON, Arthur M. WWII Arthur was born in Grassmere, Manitoba, in 1922. He enlisted in Winnipeg on April 1, 1940, with the Camerons of Canada and sailed overseas from Halifax, landing in Scotland, and then to Aldershot, England. He was wounded in the right ankle during the Dieppe Raid on August 14, 1942, and spent three months in hospital. He was then transferred to the Canadian Overseas Postal Depot in France and Holland. Arthur returned to Canada in June 1945, and received an honourable discharge in July of that year. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, George VI 1939-1945 Defence Medal, and the Dieppe Maple Leaf. Arthur passed away in 1974. WHALEY, Ken H. WWII Ken was born in Carberry, Manitoba, in 1920. He joined the Army and served in Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and Belgium. He passed away in 1988 and had been a member of Carberry Branch 153 of The Royal Canadian Legion from 1946 to 1988.
