He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg on September 1, 1942 and served in Canada. He was discharged in Vancouver on September 7, 1945. His service number was J-51905. James received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. VANDRUNEN, Anton WWII Anton was born in Cook County, Illinois, USA, in 1921. He joined the Canadian Forestry Corps, serving in Canada, England and Scotland. He had lived north of Emo, Ontario, all of his life prior to joining the Army. Anton passed away in 1987, and had been a member of Emo Gen Lipsett Branch 99 of The Royal Canadian Legion for forty years. VANDRUNEN, Henry A. WWII Henry was born in Cook County, Illinois, USA, in 1920. He joined the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, serving in Canada, England and Dieppe. He was wounded at Dieppe with shrapnel in the back and legs. Henry passed away in 1998.
