He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force, serving in Canada, England and France. He passed away in 1964. No additional information is available. STURTEVANT, Howard R. WWII Howard was born in Clearwater, Manitoba, on March 3, 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a leading aircraftsman serving in Canada and Newfoundland. Howard passed away in Stonewall, Manitoba, in 2005. He had been a member of Stonewall Branch 52 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 52 years. TROTTIER, Edward “Ed”“Eddie” WWII Lieutenant Trottier was born in Montreal, 1918 March 06, having 2 brothers. They later moved to St. Norbert, Manitoba, where 2 aunts were Grey Nuns in St. Boniface. Ed enlisted with the Canadian Army, training troops in St. Norbert/Winnipeg. Ed met and married Erma Lawlor from Kenton, MB. They married 1940 in Winnipeg and Ed stepfathered Erma’s daughters Shirley and Elaine. Going overseas, he served through France to Germany, receiving War, Defence, Volunteer Service with clasp Medals, France Germany Star. Returning home, they moved to Kenton to open a café, then in the mid-50’s to Unity and Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, dry cleaning and fur storage, later Moose Jaw, dry cleaning and linen service. Ed was very diverse, loving politics, business, avid reading especially self-help like philosophy, economics, nutrition, playing guitar, learning Spanish, enjoying grandchildren, beaches, and Arizona winters, cabins Atton’s Lake and Buffalo Pound, Saskatchewan, summers. Moving back to Kenton in 1990, Erma died 1993, and Ed 1998 (Westman Seniors, Virden, MB). Both were cremated and ashes whereabouts are unknown.
