He joined the Royal Flying Corps, 209th Squadron serving at Somme and Arras. He was shot down in Rovai and was a POW at Mulheim, west of Essen. Lyle passed away in 1962. SCHMIDT, Gordon W. PEACETIME Gordon was born in Humbolt, Saskatchewan, in 1933. He joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps serving in Korea, Canada, Egypt and Germany. He passed away in 2009, and was a member of Prince Edward Branch 81 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 23 years. SCOTT, Thomas W. WWI Thomas was born in Hartney, Manitoba. He joined the Hartney Platoon, 222nd Battalion and then the 44th Battalion and fought at the battles of Vimy, Lens and Passchendaele.
