W. “Bob” WWI Bob was born in Deleau, Manitoba, and joined the Royal Flying Corps, then transferred to the Canadian Siberian Expeditionary Forces serving in Canada and Vladivostock, Russia. ROLLO, John WWII John was born in Fetterangus, Scotland, on March 18, 1919. He enlisted with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons Regiment and took his training in Canada and England. He took part in Continental Europe and met Elise Schuclt in Belgium and married after the war in 1945. John and Elise moved to Uno and had three daughters of which they were very proud. John had health problems and passed away on February 27, 2005. He was buried on March 4 with representation from the military with pipes at his graveside. He had been a member of Miniota Branch 66 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 44 years. ROMANCE, William Clinton “Bill” WWII Bill Romance, born 1926 Jan 26, Winnipeg, had one sister. Graduating Cecil Roads High School with honours, he enlisted RCAF, 1943, August 10, age 17, then served Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, and Gimli, as Navigator Bombing crew, receiving Volunteer Service, Defence, and War medals. Bill trained as an accountant, rising to Comptroller Canadian Bronze Company, Calgary, Winnipeg. Other careers included drycleaning businesses. Bill met Shirley Bell, born Winnipeg, then Kenton, MB. Married in 1949, they had one son and one daughter. He had many interests, including league bowling, dancing, dogs, especially mongrels as easy get along with, carpentry, and Ukrainian food. Active in Legions, including Calgary, he served as treasurer in Winnipeg, Charleswood, and Kenton, branches. Retiring Winnipeg, 1971, then Kenton, Bill loved birds and birdwatching, reading newspapers, and studying, examples birds, weather patterns, climatology, trains. He enjoyed acting, for example with the Buskins in Calgary, including Shakespeare and Aladdin. He was a successful MC for many events including Al Anon. Bill passed 2005, Shirley 2017. Their ashes rest in their daughter’s yard near a chestnut tree in Kenton.
