He enlisted in the Army in Prince Albert in 1940 and served with the Regina Rifles in Canada as a Rifleman during World War II. He was discharged in Regina on April 23, 1941. His service number was L-27901. Robert was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. RICHARDSON, David WWI David was born in Aldergrove, British Columbia, in 1898. He joined the Fort Garry Horse 34th Cavalry Regiment “C” Squadron in 1918 and served in England and France.While travelling overseas in 1918, his ship sank off the east coast of Canada, fortunately there was no loss of life. David served until his discharge in May 1919. He passed away in 1976, and was a member of Rivers, MB, Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. RICHARDSON, Robert WWI Robert was born in Aldergove, British Columbia, in 1896. He enlisted in 1916 with the 203rd Battalion and then transferred to the 78th Grenadiers Canadian Infantry Manitoba Regiment in France. He was killed in action at Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917, and is buried at the Vimy Memorial in France. His family was awarded the Memorial Cross.
