He joined the 27th Canadian Battalion as Lance Corporal on January 12, 1918, serving in England and France. He passed away in 2001 and had been a member of Pilot Mound Branch 62 of The Royal Canadian Legion for over sixty years. GIBSON, Charles WWI Charles was born in Arbroath, Scotland in 1899 and joined the Lord Strathcona Horse (Royal Canadians) as a bugler serving in Canada, England and France. He was severely wounded in December 1917. Not long after his discharge, he immigrated to Detroit and was a charter member of the Canadian Legion Post 84, Royal Oak, Michigan, USA. Charles passed away in 1976. GIBSON, Gilbert A. WWII Private Gilbert Gibson was born in Ontario on November 7, 1924. He enlisted in the Army in Regina on December 11, 1942. He served with the NWR, South Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada and overseas during World War II. His service number was L-103497. He was discharged in Toronto on February 28, 1946.
