He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and later transferred to the 7th Field Engineers. In 1942, he went overseas and served in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.While in battle he was wounded in the forearm, face, and thumb.While overseas, he married and had one daughter. Joseph returned to Canada in 1945 and received his discharged on December 15, 1945. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He lived in Fisher Branch on the family farm. TRAILL, Ralph Ernest WWI L/Cpl. Ralph Ernest Traill was born in Sebeka, Minnesota, USA in 1897. He served in the Army with the 1st Battalion, Canadian Mounted Rifles in France and in Belgium during World War I. Ralph passed away in 1965. TRAILL, Stuart WWI L/Cpl. Stuart Traill was born in Sebeka, Minnesota, USA in 1894. He served in the Army with the 1st Battalion, Canadian Mounted Rifles in France and in Belgium during World War I. Stuart passed away in 1972.
