He enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg on August 25 and served overseas in Korea with the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He was killed in action in Korea in 1951. Private Harry Brydon was 24 years old. BURKETT, Robert Eric WWII Robert was born in Winnipeg on April 26, 1926. He enlisted in the Navy in Saskatoon on January 19, 1944. He served on HMCS Hunter in Canada until his discharge in Winnipeg on November 7, 1945. He received a Service Medal. BYERS, Vernon James WWII Flight Lieutenant Vernon Byers enlisted in the Air Force and served overseas during World War II.
