He served as a Flying Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the United Kingdom during World War II. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73. BITZER, Jacob G. WWII Jacob was born in Holdfast, Saskatchewan in 1920, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bitzer. He worked for a time at Niagara Falls, Ontario before enlisting at Prince Albert in May 1942. He went overseas in February 1943 and served in the United Kingdom, Italy and in Northwest Europe. He was reported wounded in Sicily, while serving with the Saskatoon Light Infantry.
