He joined the Royal Air Force and trained as an air fitter. He transferred to Carberry, Manitoba airbase with the rank of sergeant. He met Doris Bartram who was also stationed at Carberry with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. They were married in October 1944 and transferred back to England where he served for the duration of the war. Ken worked for Quaker Oats and as a draftsman for an engineering firm after the war. In 1988, Ken and Doris moved back to Canada where they retired in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. Doris is now in a nursing home in Shoal Lake and Ken passed away in June 2004. RODEN, Albert E. WWII Albert was born in 1911. He was employed with the Patricia Transportation Company summer and winter in Hudson, Ontario. He served in World War II with the 431 Squadron as a Sergeant. Albert was killed in action in 1942 over Ludwigshafen, Germany. ROSS, William A. WWII William was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1919. He served in World War II with the Air Force Squadron 427 and OC Red Knight. He served in England, Germany and Canada. William passed away in 1982.
