He served in World War II with 408 Goose Squadron. On July 10, 1943, Thomas was killed in action over Gelsenkirchen, Germany. MENARD (LEPAGE), Irene WWII Irene joined the Wrens in July 1943. She spent most of her Navy time in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia and Ottawa, HMCS Bytown and HMCS Chippawa Winnipeg, Manitoba serving as Leading Wren, Writer. She was discharged in July 1946 and resided in Winnipeg. MILES, Francis WWI Francis was born in Lancashire, England in 1884. He served in the Army with the 222nd in France during World War I. He was killed in action in France in 1917.
