225 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca LARENCE, John WWI Joe, John and Eugene (Harry) were the sons of Jim and Eleanor (Lagimodiere) Larence who came from St Laurent. Jim moved to Fisher Branch, Manitoba after the death of his wife at St-Ambroise in 1901. Harold, son of Harry Larence, served in World War II. John was born in 1884 in St. Laurent, Manitoba one of four brothers. John joined the army and served in Canada. He farmed in Fisher Branch, Manitoba following the war. John passed away on July 5, 1947. LAVALLEE, Alfred WWI Alfred was born in St. Eustache, Manitoba on December 22, 1888. He enlisted in the Army with his two brothers on November 7, 1917 serving with the 52nd Battalion Regiment as a private in France during World War I. Alfred was wounded in action at Amiens and was discharged on June 24, 1919. He was awarded the British Medal and Victory Medal. Alfred settled in the Chadfield area where he raised a family of eight and was very proud of his Metis Heritage. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Eriksdale Branch 140 for twenty years. Alfred passed away November 25, 1968. LETEXIER, Adrien Theadore WWII Adrien enlisted on February 28, l945 joining the Canadian Infantry Corps. He was in the Reserve Army and took his training in Winnipeg at Fort Garry Barracks. Adrien was discharged on April 12, 1947. He resided in Ontario.
