1 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND A Message from the President www.mbnwo.ca This year 2018, marks the 100th Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of 11 November 1918 that ended fighting on land, sea and air in World War I. This is the ninth edition of the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Command, Military Service Recognition Book. It is meant as a tribute to all those Veterans who served or are serving, as well as to all of those who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our way of life. We owe these men and women a debt of gratitude that may never be fully paid. It is important to all of us that we continue to recognize the great sacrifice that was made by so many. There are many Veterans and those who paid the supreme sacrifice who have not yet been recognized. It is up to us to search these out and tell their story in the future editions of the Military Service Recognition Books. To everyone who made submissions to this or any earlier edition of the Military Service Recognition Book, Thank You.
