He served overseas with the Artillery, 14th Field Regiment in the Sicilian campaign. He returned to Winnipeg in 1945. John is now deceased. GRODZIUK (GRADLEY), Paul WWII Paul joined the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve Force in early 1945. He was overseas, stationed at Prestwick, Scotland until the war ended. After demobilization, he went to university and graduated as a civil engineer. Paul was in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the time of his death in 1987. GROS, Jean Eugene WWII Jean enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg on December 10, 1941, in the RCC Engineers. He trained in Dundurn, SK and Chilliwack, BC. He left Chilliwack with his regiment to go to the United Kingdom in mid-August 1943. In the UK, he transferred to the RCC Signals. Jean served in the UK and Continental Europe. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Voluntary Service Medal with Clasp. Jean was discharged on January 18, 1946 to return to civil life “on Demobilization”. Jean married on July 24, 1943. He was the father of two children and “Papa” to two granddaughters. Jean passed away in his sleep on the eve of his retirement on September 7, 1987.
