67 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca CHRISTOPHERSON, Theodore Evan WWII Theodore was born in British Columbia, the son of Kjartan and Gudrun Christopherson. He enlisted at San Francisco in January 1942 and trained at Chanute Field, Illinois. He was stationed at St. Louis, Austin, Syracuse and New York. He served in the Pacific on every island from Christmas Island to Tokyo as a flight engineer on a C46 cargo plane. He married Pauline E. Einarson of Glenboro in 1946. After the war, he lived in Millbrae, California and worked as a Real Estate Broker. CHURCH, Sydney KOREA Sydney was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1933. He enlisted in the Army with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and served in Canada and Korea during the Korean War. He took his training in Vernon, British Columbia and went to Korea for three years until his discharge in 1953. He married Ruth Towns in 1955 and they later had two boys and five girls. After his service, he worked for Westburne Plumbing & Heating and he retired from there in 1985. Sydney passed away in 2008. CLARK, Walter Lyall WWII Lyall was born in Baldur, the son of Walter and Theresa Clark. He enlisted at Winnipeg and trained at Brandon and St. Thomas, Ontario. He was stationed at No. 8 Repair Depot (RCAF) Winnipeg. After the war, he lived in Portage la Prairie, where he was employed as an Auto Parts Manager. He married Mary Myrdal on May 24, 1941. They had one son, Garry Lyall, who was an Insurance Adjuster, and a daughter, Sharon Ann, who was an Registered Nurse. Lyall was a member of Baldur Legion Branch 108.
