He attended Brandon University and took Pilot training from 1968 to 1972. Harv was a pilot with 421 Squadron in Germany from 1972 to 1975; training in Cold Lake, Alberta from 1975 to 1982; and then went back to 421 Squadron in Germany from 1982 to 1983. Harv was then stationed in Calgary, AB from 1983 to 1985 as liaison to the Army and in Portage la Prairie, MB from 1985 to 1988. His career continued in Cold Lake doing training and support from 1988 to 1996. He was awarded the CD and Bar and the NATO SVC Medal. Harv then became a civilian and joined WestJet. WRIGHT, James Duncan WWII James was born in Greenway, Manitoba to parents James and Margaret Wright. He enlisted at Winnipeg on January 13, 1940 and trained at Fort Osborne Barracks. He went overseas on July 14, 1940 and obtained the rank of Sergeant in 1941 in Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He survived many serious battles and at one time he took over and operated his officers’ set for eight hours after his own set was shot away; in that battle in May 1944, several hundred went in and only 73 came back. He served in active service until he was killed in an accident as the troops were moving in preparation to leave Holland on their journey home on July 15, 1945. He married Verna Dean (McKay). They had one daughter, Dorothy Dean Wright. WRIGHT, William Alexander WWII William, son of World War I veteran, William J. Wright, was born in Dinorwic, Ontario in 1920 and joined the Army in 1942. He was a Private and served in Canada and overseas in Britain and in Northwest Europe during World War II. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and War Medal 1939-1945. William was honourably discharged in 1946 in Winnipeg. He worked after the war for the Department of Highways until his death in 1970. William was a member of the Dryden Legion Branch 63.
