He enlisted in Winnipeg, trained at St. Thomas and was stationed at No. 3 MacDonald and No. 8 RD Winnipeg. He married Pauline Alice Little on August 30, 1942. They raised three children, a son Lynn, and daughters Carrol and Karen. The family resided in Dorval, Quebec where Frank was employed as an aircraft technician with Air Canada. ROBINSON, Lyal WWII Lyal was born in the Dry River District, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Robinson. He enlisted at Winnipeg, trained at Brandon and was stationed at Halifax and Goose Bay. He married Evelyn Spearman on June 12, 1941 and they resided in Brandon where Lyal was employed as a Department Manager. They had two daughters, Gail and Donna. He was very active in the musical circles. ROBINSON, Walter L. WWI Walter was an immigrant from England. Following a nine-year career as a professional soccer player with Leicester City, he enlisted in Winnipeg with the Fort Garry Horse and later, with the Canadian Calvary Regiment at the outbreak of the Great War, World War I. He served on the staff of General Sam Steele on active duty in England and France. After the war he remained behind as part of the contingent charged with the culling of tens of thousands of surplus horses. At the time of the General’s death in London, Lady Steele awarded the General’s saddle and bridle to Walter in recognition of his personal services.
