He enlisted in Brandon, trained at Shilo and Debert, Nova Scotia and served overseas in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He married Anna Fredrickson on August 31, 1946 and they raised seven children. OLAFSON, Thorbergur “Bergur” WWII Bergur, son of the late Thorunn and Edvaldur Olafson, was born near Baldur on October 30, 1910. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in December 1942, training at Victoria, Prince Rupert and Debert before going overseas in May 1945, where he was serving when the war ended. Bergur resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba. OLIVER, Albert Jon WWII Albert was born in the Bru District north of Baldur, the son of Albert and Lilga Oliver. He enlisted at Dauphin, Manitoba, trained at Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg and served overseas in England and Scotland. He has been a member of the Baldur Legion Branch. He married Sigridur Bjarney (Budda) Myrdal of Baldur in April 1937 and they had two sons, Johnny and Kenny.
