He enlisted in the Navy and served on the Lindsey K338 with the rating of FX O/S AACII. He served in England and on the High Seas during World War II and in Special Duty Areas. He was a member of Legion Branch 63 for 38 years from 1954 to 1992. Rocco passed away in 1992. LESNICK, Bernard G. WWII Bernard was born in Blake Township in 1923. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1942 and served with the Lake Superior Regiment in Canada. He trained in British Columbia and Fort William. He was a member of Army and Navy Fort William Ontario Legion Branch (Thunder Bay) for forty years. Bernard passed away in 2016. LESNICK, Bernard “Ben” WWI Ben was born in Pembroke, Ontario in 1888. He enlisted in the Navy and served during World War I. Private Ben Lesnick took his oath on March 22, 1916. In his oath, he was duty bound to defend King and country, which Ben took very seriously. His last post was Forestry Camp Mansfield Nottingham which is where he met May King. They were married on October 28, 1918 and arrived back in Canada on October 5, 1919. They moved to Blake Township (Neebing, Ontario). They still have great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren living in Blake. Ben passed away in 1963.
