He enlisted in the Army in 1950 and served at Headquarters – APO 696 – US Army, 114th Labor Supervision Center in Nuremberg, Germany for two and a half years. LAWRENCE, Terry D. SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Terry was born in Reading, Berks, England in 1934. He immigrated to Foxwarren, MB in 1947. He enlisted in the RAF in 1952 as a communications tech (air). After training in Quebec and Ontario, he was posted to Rivers, MB. He attended advanced electronics training at Clinton, ON and then posted to Centralia, ON. In 1958, he was posted to Greenwood, NS. During the next six years he was attached to 103 Search and Rescue Squadron and 405 Anti-Submarine Squadron where he served extended Temporary Duty tours in Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Malta, Gibraltar and USA. In 1964, he was posted to Moose Jaw, SK. He was selected for Officer Training in 1968, graduating as an Aerospace Engineering Officer posted to NDHQ Ottawa. In 1974, he was posted to CFB Borden as Instructor on the AERE Course. Students included Royal Military College Cadets. In 1978, he was posted to CFB Winnipeg as Avionics and Armament Officer. In 1981, he transferred as Military Contract Manager at Standard Aero Company in Winnipeg. He retired from Regular Force in 1986. In 1998, he enlisted in Class “C” Reserves and served with 14 Training Group, Air Command Winnipeg as Training Specialist Officer. He retired again in 1991. Terry is a Life Member of Foxwarren Legion Branch 152. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. LAWSON (STODDART), Emma R. WWII Emma was born on a farm in southern Manitoba on September 23, 1923. She enlisted in the RCAF Women’s Division in December 1943 at Winnipeg and served in Canada during World War II. She did basic training at Rockliffe, Ontario, course training at Trenton, ON, and then was sent to Halifax for reposting to Sydney, Nova Scotia. A year later, she was stationed at Gander, Newfoundland and at the close of war, she was sent to Aylmer, ON. She was honourably discharged in September 1946. Following the war, she returned to Winnipeg and took a six-month course at Nels Todd Beauty Academy. Rose worked as a beautician and married an RCAF chap in 1947, then after several postings across Canada, retired at Ponoka, Alberta.
