She enlisted in the Army in 1942 with the District Depot 10 and served in Canada during World War II. Norma was in charge of orderly office and the records office in Winnipeg and also worked in the canteen. She was discharged in 1943 at which time she married Ron Adey and they later had two boys and one girl. Norma worked at Westeel Rosco as an accountant. She retired in 1979 and resides in Winnipeg. ADEY, Ron WWII Ron was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1924. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and took his basic training in Winnipeg and Cornwallis. He served in Canada and on the High Seas during World War II. When Ron went to sea, he became sick, but he stayed on as a bulger in Cornwallis until 1945. He met and married Norma at the opening of the HMCS Chippawa in 1943 and they later had two boys and one girl. Ron worked for Winnipeg Transit for 39 years and retired in 1984. AGER, Robert William WWI Robert was born in on May 2, 1883 in Geddington, England and immigrated to Canada in June 1912. He served in World War I with the Canadian 106th Regiment of the Winnipeg Rifles and Winnipeg Light Infantry from August 1914 to March 1919 and attained the rank of Corporal. Enlisting in 1914, he trained on Salisbury Plain and he left for France on February 10, 1915. He took part in the Battles of Festubert and Givenchy. After the war, he returned home in Springfield, Manitoba and for 27 years was employed as a CPR Policeman, working at Weston Yards in Winnipeg from 1919 to 1923 and North Transcona Yards in Springfield until his retirement in 1946. Robert died in Deer Lodge Hospital on July 14, 1950 and is interred in Old Kildonan Cemetery in Winnipeg, MB.
