147 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca KYNOCH, Jim WWII Jim was born in Glenora, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kynoch. He enlisted at Winnipeg, trained at Portage la Prairie and Red Deer, Alberta and served overseas in England, Sicily, Italy, Holland and Germany. He served with the RCASC, 1st Division and had the rank of Corporal. Jim farmed in Glenora and married Mildred Sterling in 1965. He has been a member of the Baldur Legion Branch. KYNOCH, Willie WWII Willie was born in Glenora, Manitoba, the son of James and Wilhamena Kynoch. He enlisted in Winnipeg on June 16, 1941, trained at Shilo, Debert, Sussex and served overseas in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was discharged on November 10, 1945 as a Lance Sergeant. He married Doris Ballantine on October 22, 1949 and they had seven children: Lynn, Daryl, Trudy, Denny, Cindy, Tannis and Clinton. LA PLUME, Raymond PEACETIME Raymond was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1938. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1957 and was trained and stationed at various bases in Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. He was discharged in 1964 and was a butcher in the family business for a year. He joined Bristol Air, Winnipeg then went to Baggotville, Alberta with Northbound Industries until 1967 at which time he re-enlisted and worked on fighter aircrafts until he was discharged in 1992. Raymond married Elisabeth Desjarlais in 1963 and had three sons and a daughter. He and Elisabeth divorced; he married Norma Volin in 1974 and they had a daughter. Raymond worked for the Alberta Liquor Board for 21 years and had his own Fuji photo lab before retiring to Winnipeg in 2003.
