He enlisted in Winnipeg, trained at Brandon and St. Thomas and was stationed at No. 6 BD Trenton, Ontario. He served overseas at Craft and Leming, Yorkshire, England. He was mentioned in Dispatch for Distinguished Service in June 1945. Sig married Wilhamena Kynoch of Glenora in September 1946 and they resided in St. James, Manitoba where he was employed as a welder. They had two daughters, Bonnie and Arlene. JOHANNESSON, Pall K. I. WWII Pall was born on March 24, 1918 at Baldur, the son of Ingolfur and Sigrun K. Johannesson. He served in Canada from 1941 to 1945. He married Irene Little on October 9, 1943 and they had three children: Karl L., W. Brian and Sherrie D. Ward. The family settled in New Westminster, British Columbia. JOHNSON, Emil WWII Emil, son of Jon and Solla Johnson, was born on April 15, 1918 on their farm located seven miles northeast of Baldur. Emil served in the RCAF. He and his wife had three children and ran resort cabins in Hope, British Columbia.
