Hallie joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 at Winnipeg and served as an aero engine mechanic. He married and lived in Vancouver. GORDON, Lloyd William WWII Lloyd was born on September 22, 1919, the son of Bill and Margaret Gordon, and resided at Belmont prior to enlisting on September 1, 1941 in Winnipeg in the RCNVR where he served as a P.O. in the Engine Room. He served at –“You name it I’ve been there” or so it seems as Lloyd first served in the Atlantic and ended up with British and American in the Pacific opposing the common enemy returning to Canada two days before Armistice. Lloyd married Kristine (Diddy) Johnson of Baldur on November 7, 1945. GOSSELIN, George PEACETIME George was born in Winnipeg in 1933. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in the Service Corps in 1951. He took his basic training in Camp Borden, Ontario and completed a clerical course while there. George left for Germany with the 27th Infantry Brigade in late 1951 in a peacekeeping role for NATO and spent two years there in that capacity. He was discharged in 1954. George married Teresa Barnabe and they had two girls and one boy. He worked as a farm machinery designer for years after his release, mostly at Versatile Manufacturing. The Gosselins are retired in Winnipeg. He has been a member of Norwood Legion Branch 43.
