He joined the Navy and served on HMCS Chaudiere and the McKenzie for three years as a radar plotter in Canada during Peacetime. He was a member of the Gladstone Legion Branch 110 for ten years. Ronald has lived in Oklahoma City, USA for the past thirty years. FRASER, Roy WWI Roy was raised near Elkhorn, Manitoba. He joined the Army and served in France with the Fort Garry Horse in World War I. FREEMAN, Douglas “Doug” WWII Doug was born on May 5, 1921 at the farm home near Elkhorn, Manitoba. He enlisted early in World War II and served as a wireless operator with 1st Canadian Armored Brigade. He saw action in North Africa, Italy and in the campaign in Northwest Europe. He left the Army in 1945 and began farming in the Swan River Valley.
