43 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca CLEMENSON, Clemi WWI Clemi was born in Iceland on December 4, 1896, the son of John and Thuridur Clemenson. He enlisted with the 223 Bttn at Winnipeg in March of 1917. He arrived overseas in April of the same year and over to France in June. He participated at Passchendale, Amiens, Arras and Cambrai. In the Battle of arras, Clemi was awarded the Military Medal. He was wounded in the right shoulder by gun shot near Cambrai on October 10, 1918 and arrived back in Canada in January of 1919. Clemi was employed as a Stationmaster for many years. He retired to Wawanesa, Manitoba. COLDWELL, Albert L. WWII Albert was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1922. He enlisted in the Army with the No. 1 Motor Ambulance Convoy and served in England, Italy and Holland during World War II. He was a member of the Transcona Legion Branch 7 for thirty years. Albert passed away in 2009. COLDWELL, William T. WWII, KOREA, SPECIAL DUTY AREA, PEACETIME William was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1925. He enlisted in the Canadian Navy and served on Minesweepers and other vessel and 1960 submariner. He served in the war and sailed out of Glasgow and Plymouth. He retired in 1972. William passed away in 2009.
