He enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He saw action in England. He married Ida Douglas before going overseas and had six children. After the war, he worked at Transcona, MB and Dryden, ON. He suffered an injury in Dryden and retired to Emo, ON. Jack died of a heart attack in 1981 and is buried in the Foxwarren Cemetery. CARRIERE, David G. WWII David was born in The Pas, Manitoba in 1918. He enlisted in the Army on June 5, 1941 and served in France, Africa, Germany and England with the Sea Forth Highlanders. He was discharged on October 13, 1945. David passed away in 1992. CHOWN, Ernest “Ernie” WWII Ernie was born on November 21, 1920 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan and moved to Elkhorn with his parents at a young age. He received his education in Elkhorn. He enlisted in the Army and joined the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps on March 12, 1942. He served in Halifax and Vancouver during World War II and was discharged as a Sergeant on May 6, 1946. Ernie passed away on April 19, 1990.
