31 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca BLACKBURN, Arthur Stanley Woods “Stan” WWII Arthur was born on October 31, 1912 in Kenora, Ontario. He moved to Winnipeg and attended St. Alphonse and St. Edwards School. He started working for Hudson Bay Company in the early 1930’s. He joined the Corps of Canadian Firefighters in 1942 and trained in Ottawa. Stan went overseas during World War II and was stationed in Plymouth and returned to Canada in 1945. He returned to work at Hudson Bay Company and retired after 44 years of service. He was a member of Branch 1 in Winnipeg. Stan passed away on June 21, 1985. BOLTON, William John WWI William was born in Glenella, Manitoba in 1894. He served with the Army in Canada during World War I. William passed away in 1958. BOOMHOWER, Floyd WWII Floyd was born at Elkhorn, Manitoba and served in the Army overseas during World War II. While in England, he met Pat Wildblood. She immigrated to Canada and they were married in Elkhorn. Floyd continued his military career after the war as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
