211 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca WARREN, Robert J. “Bob” WWII Bob was born in Holland, Manitoba in 1916. He enlisted in August of 1943 and was in Winnipeg, Shilo, Woodstock; London, Ontario; Back to Shilo then overseas to England and Northwest Europe. He then spent nine months in the Occupational Forces. Bob returned to Canada and received his discharge on June 12, 1946. He moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in July of 1946 and then worked underground for Hudson Bay mining and smelting until October of 1976. He retired and moved to Brandon, MB. He was a member of the Flin Flon Legion Branch for thirty years. Bob passed away on October 11, 1983 and is buried at Bethel Cemetery in Treherne, MB. WARRENER, James Albert “Jim” WWII James was born at Baldur, Manitoba, the only son of Clarence and Pearl Warrener. Jim enlisted in Winnipeg in January of 1941 and trained at Woodstock and Petawawa, Ontario with the 1st Field Regiment R.C.N.A. After going overseas, he was stationed in Wales and Scotland and went into action in Sicily and Italy where in September of 1944, Jim was killed in action. He was awarded the Military Medal. WATSON (STONEHOUSE), Mary K. WWII Mary was born at McAuley, Manitoba in 1913. She served in Canada with the Women’s Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. She married Bill Watson from Birtle in 1948. Following their marriage, they lived in Winnipeg and in Chicago, Illinois. In 1973, they moved back to Elkhorn, MB to retire.
