He joined the Army and served during World War II with the RCEME in England, Belgium and the Netherlands. He has been a member of the Arborg Legion Branch 161 for sixty years. STRANG, Harry Gordon WWI Harry was born on July 23, 1893, the son of James and Annie Strang. Harry enlisted at Brandon and trained there and in Winnipeg before serving in England and France. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Baldur Branch 108. He married Jennie McLennan on October 24, 1917. They had three daughters, Marguerite Jean Lockerby and Doris Mary Stone of Baldur and Anne Lovell Fisher of Elm Creek. The Strang’s farmed at Greenway from 1919 to 1940 and they retired to Baldur where he passed away on March 5, 1960. STRUTT, Fred WWI Fred was born at St. Leonards-on-sea, England. He enlisted at Baldur while working in the district as a labourer. He was shot as a prisoner of war.
