17 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca BALDWIN, Keith J. WWII Keith was born in Warren, Manitoba in 1917. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in January 1942, spending most of his enlisted time in Canada at Paulson near Dauphin, MB as Leading Aircraftman. He was discharged from the service in 1945. After some time, Keith moved to California with his family where he resided until his death in 1994. BALDWIN, Kelvin B. PEACETIME Kelvin was born in Warren, Manitoba in 1933. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951 and received his basic training in St. Jean, QC and did his trades training as clerk typist in Aylmer, ON. After training, he went to Trenton, ON for six weeks to train for and participate in the Honour Guard for Queen Elizabeth. His postings include MacDonald, Portage La Prairie, and Winnipeg, MB. He was then posted to 2 Fighter Wing in Grostenquin, France. After returning from France, he went to Base Winnipeg and then to Training Command Headquarters. He was released after twenty years of service in December 1971. Kelvin has been a member of Stonewall Legion Branch 52. BALDWIN, Margaret M. WWII Margaret was born in Ontario in 1889. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1926. She joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps and went overseas in 1940 with the Canadian Nursing Sisters to the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital near Tapelow, England. Margaret served there for the duration of World War II. After the war, she returned home to Manitoba where she continued her nursing career. She was awarded the Royal Red Cross for her service. Margaret passed away in 1968.
