He enlisted in the Army on August 12, 1942 and joined the Field Battery #1, RCAN, #10 District Depot. His service number was H101841. He served as a Gunner during World War II in England, Central Mediterranean, Continental Europe, France, Germany and Holland. He was discharged on November 13, 1945. He was awarded the 1939 – 1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. The Legion said that he most likely also received the War Medal and the Defence Medal. Bernard passed away on December 10, 1948. McGOGY, Donald Charles WWII Donald was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on November 11, 1912. He enlisted in the Army on January 9, 1943 with the Number 10DD RCA Anti Tank. His service number was H1210. He served during World War II in England, Central Mediterranean, Continental Europe, Italy, Germany and North Africa. He landed in France on March 17, 1945, in Belgium on March 22, 1947 and in Holland on April 2, 1945. He was promoted to Sergeant on August 4, 1945 and was discharged on March 19, 1946. He received the 1939 – 1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. The Legion said that he most likely also received the Africa Star Medal. Donald passed away on August 9, 1991. McGOGY, Ellis Kirkland WWII Ellis was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on March 19, 1917. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons – 18th Armoured Car C. Regiment as a Trooper. His regiment number was H77868. He served in England, France, Germany, Holland and North Africa during World War II. The 18th Canadian Armoured Car Regiment: left the 4 CDN repatriation Depot between Thursley Village and Witley Village in Surrey, England to return to America aboard S.S. Queen Elizabeth that departed on December 20, 1945. He arrived in New York City, New York, USA on January 14, 1946. He was awarded the 1939 – 1945 Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. The Legion said that he most likely also received the Africa Star Medal. Ellis passed away on September 3, 1993.
